A peaceful mind is an important ingredient of any successful person. A peaceful mind gives one the opportunity to think clearly and decisively about a situation. Here are tips to help you maintain a healthy mind.

1. Develop close friendships and positive relationships with acquaintances. These are important for psychological balance.

2. Listen to other people's advice, but make up your own mind. Don't let others make decisions for you and then begin to blame them later.

3. Be the master of your own life. No one has power over your life except you. Try to analyze your life and try to make it better if need be.

4. In all stages of your life keep your own personality. Be open however, to new knowledge and experiences.

5. Your enthusiasm is what drives you. Be sure that you have specific goals on which focus on and that keep you enthusiastic.

6. Be content with yourself. Never undermine yourself or feel intimidated or be stalked by guilt. When necessary apologize to friends, associates or even yourself and then let go.

7. Accept discomfort as a sign that there is something wrong that needs changing. Never see discomfort as an enemy, but as a learning process. Learn how to listen to your body, your pains and how to deal with them.

8. If you begin experiencing mood swings or mild depression, start an exercise program such as running, swimming, walking, e.t.c.

9. Learn some techniques that facilitate relaxation. A good example is yoga, meditation and such like.

10. Have a belief in a higher being. This has been proven to prolong life,especially if one participates in a community such as a church.

11. If prayer is part of your faith, practice it as often as possible. Prayer has a soothing effect on the believer as thus enhances a peaceful mind.
