Human beings rely on energy to perform all activities. The main sources of energy are foods rich in fats and carbohydrates. However, consumption of these foods in excess is one of the major causes for fat accumulation around the body''s mid section. Health conditions associated with accumulation of fat in the body include; heart attacks, strokes and paralysis. Unhealthy eating habits, lack of physical exercises and a stressful lifestyle are the top factors contributing to development of belly fat.

There are four main ways of loosing unnecessary fat around the mid body-section. First, you have to change your eating habits. Instead of eating three large meals, switch to 6 small meals a day. Eating often minimizes food cravings. Moreover, eating small meals increases your body''s rate of metabolism. With increased metabolism, there is no chance of developing belly fat.

One of the main reasons for accumulating fat around the body''s mid section is diet. Junk foods, fatty snacks, beef, fatty dairy products and refined foods all contribute to an obese body. To keep your body fat levels in check, switch to healthy foods such as whole grain foods, lean meat, low fat dairy products, fruits and vegetables. A change in diet includes dropping alcoholic drinks and switching to healthy drinks such as fruit beverages.

Exercising is compulsory if you are to shed that unnecessary belly fat. Adopt a training program involving cardiovascular and strength training activities. Cardiovascular exercises such as aerobics, jogging, cycling and brisk walking help in burning fat, increasing energy and body metabolism. Strength training activities such as weight lifting also burn fat and help in muscle formation.

A health person should drink 8-10 glasses of water daily. Increased water intake helps in metabolism and flushes away toxins from the body. Drinking water often also keeps you satiate preventing you from

binge eating.

Loosing body fat is a simple process which requires dedication and consistency. If you eat right, exercise properly and drink the right amount of water, then consider yourself on the path towards loosing belly fat.
