The disadvantages of using air transport in Kenya

In Kenya, transportation can be done either by air, road or even railway among other ways. When it comes to air transport, it can be used either to move from place to place in the same country or to move from country to country. Though there are still some people in Kenya who would never use the air transport, there are still others who travel mostly using air transport. Thus what makes some people not to use air transport? The following are the disadvantages of using air transport.

1) No door to door services.
Airplanes do not just land anywhere. They need a field which has been prepared specifically for them to land on. Even helicopters need a flat area to land on. This means that if there is no place like which has the properties that allow the plane or helicopter to land on, then you might have to land some distance away from your actual destination.

2) Feeling sick.
Not everyone is used to using air transport. Some people feel sick whenever they are on the air making this kind of transport very stressful for them. Most of these people start vomiting very frequently while they are on the plane and this not only becomes uncomfortable for them, but it might also disturb the other passengers who are on the same plane if the vomiting gets out of control.

3) It is not the safest.
Air transport is not the safest means of transport to use. This is because most of the accidents that occur in air transport are very fatal. This means that the chances of a person surviving an accident in air transport are very small and even those who survive such accidents are usually very badly injured usually as a result of being severely burnt.

4) Bulky goods.
Air transport

does not allow the carrying of very bulky goods. This is mainly because airplanes have to be very light in order to fly. Even the body that makes up the plane is built using very light materials. Therefore if you want carry very many heavy goods using the air transport, then you might have to pay for more than one trip because most planes might not be able to carry all your goods in just one trip.

Air transport is good but the above disadvantages make some people to avoid traveling using air transport. However, there are still other people in Kenya who insist that there is no better means of transport than air transport.
