This paper consists of 4 printed pages.
Candidates should check the question paper to ascertain
that all pages are Printed as indicated and that no question is missing

A pattern of a girls blouse is provided. You are advised to study the sketches, the Question paper and the layout before you begin the test.

1. MATERIALS PROVIDED.
Pattern pieces of a girls blouse.

A Blouse front with facing
B Blouse back bodice
C Back yoke
D Collar
E Neck facing (back)

NB: Interfacing of the collar should be cut from the same fabric using the collar pattern piece.

2. Light weight plain cotton fabric 65cm long and 90 cm wide.

3. Sewing thread to match the fabric.


The Test.
Using the materials provided, cut out and make the RIGHT HALF of the blouse to show
the following processes.

(a) Preparing the inverted pleat.
(b) Attaching yoke on to the back bodice using an overlaid seam. (Neaten using 100p stitch).
(c) Making a double stitched (machine fell seam) on the shoulder.
(d) Making of the side dart and the Seam using an open seam.
(e) Joining the facings
(f) Neatening of the facings
(g) Preparation of the collar using facings.
(h) Attachment of the collar
(i) Making of the button hole by hand.
(j) Attaching the button.




At the end of examination, firmly sew on to your work, on a single fabric, a label bearing your name, and index number. Remove the needle and pins from your work. Then fold your work carefully and place it in the envelope provided. Do not put scraps of material in the envelope.
