SECTION A 1.You have been taken a job to teach history at the Wananchi Secondary School,Webuye, a)Prepare a scheme of work for any one class, Form 1-4 for one week. b)Prepare a 40-minute lesson plan from any one topic based on the scheme of work in (a) 2.What argument could you champion in support of teaching history at the secomdary schoo level in Kenya.Are there any shortcomings? 3a)What do you understand by oral traditions?How useful are they as a source of history? b)Illustrate with examples how a history teacher could use ''''unwritten sources'''' to enrich the teaching of history in a secondary school class room. 4a)Outline the role of the internet and audio-visual-aids(a-v-a) in history class roam at secondary school level. b)How can you justify the existence of a history room in a secondary school? Suggest the ways of furnishing it. SECTION B 5.Outline the essential elements for the proper training and growth of an effective seconday school history teacher. 6.Discuss the merits and shortcomings of using ''field trip'' method in teaching history at the secondary school level. 7.You are just been transferred to Tumaini secondary school in Mumias to teach history in Form IIE.On reporting you learn that previous history teacher left suddenly for further studies oversees without leaving behind any records.What steps will you follow to ensurn that you get on with the teaching task? 8.Write short notes on any four of the following:- a)The syllabus b)The marking scheme. c)The scheme of work d)Aims of education. e)Broad educational objectives. f)Specific instructional objectives.
