Scientific knowledge keeps on changing in the light of fresh empirical and theoretical insights. From time to time, societal needs also change. Discuss the main changes that have taken place in Physics Education since Kenya attained her independence, indicating the rationale for the changes. (30marks)

Discuss briefly the differences between a teaching approach and methodology. (2marks)

Discuss three advantages and three disadvantages of each of the following strategies in physics instructions.

Class Experiments (6marks)

(a)
Prepare a lesson plan lasting 40 minutes on the topic measurements for a form one class. Identify the pre-requisite concepts that students would have to know to be able to learn the lesson topic effectively. (12marks)
(b)
It is likely that some of the apparatus you might need for the lesson in part (a) above may not be available in the physics laboratory. Describe the improvisation techniques you would employ to make the teaching of your topic effective (8marks)
