SECTION A (30 Marks)
l. Describe five sources a teacher may use to identify a research topic. (5 Marks).

2. State five ethical considerations when conducting research. (5 Marks).

a. Explain what you understand by the term sampling. (1 Mark).
b. Clearly explain four reasons why a researcher must do sampling. (4 Marks).

4. Explain five rules you would consider when collecting data from children. (5Marks).

a. What are variables in research? (1 Mark).
b. Giving relevant examples explain independent and dependent variables. (4Marks).

6. Describe the term" Historical Research". (5 Marks).

7. You intend to carry out a research project entitled, " Factors affecting feeding Programmes in ECD centres in your programmes clearly state:

b. Identify a suitable instrument you could use to collect data during indoor free choice activity in your ECD centre and explain its advantages and disadvantages. (10 Marks).

a. Compare and contrast the case correlation and experimental studies. (10 Marks).
b. Explain three advantages and two disadvantages of each of the designs. (10 Marks).

10. To conduct research you need to sample your subjects from the main population. Giving examples, discuss how you would sample using simple stratified sampling. (20 Marks).
