2. Two similar jam jars are such that the height of one is three times that of the other. The smaller one has a surface area of 27cm2 and volume 6cm3. What is the area and volume of the larger jar?

3. Two containers, one cylindrical and the other spherical, have the same volume. The height of the cylindrical container is 50cm and its radius is 11cm. find the radius of the spherical container.

4.The number of people who attended an agricultural show in one day was 510 men, 1080 women and some children. When the information was represented on a pie chart, the combined angle for the men and children was 2160. Find the angle representing the number of children

5.The electrical resistance, R ohms, of a wire of a given length is inversely proportional to the square of the diameter of the wire, d mm. if R=2.0 ohms when d=3mm, find the value of R when d=4mm.

6.Akinyi bought maize and beans from a wholesaler. She then mixed the maize and the beans in the ratio 4:3. She bought the maize at sh21 per kg and the beans at sh42 per kg. If she was to make a profit of 30%, what should be the selling price of 1 kg of the mixture?

7.A large scale farmer used 1/2 of his land to plant maize, 1/5 for planting beans and 1/3of the remainder for grazing and the rest for horticulture farming. If he uses 10 hectares for grazing, determine how much land he uses for horticultural farming. (2mks)


8.The angle of elevation to the top of a tree from a point P is ?22.6?^0. From another point Q which is 12m from the base of the tree, the angle of elevation of the top of the tree is 47.5 °

9.Wahome bought a second hand car and later sold it through a sales agent who charges 7 1/2% commission on the price of the car. He received sh. 222, 000 from the agent after the latter had deducted his commission. Wahome incurred a loss of 25% on the price at which he had bought the car.
Calculate the price at which the agent sold the car.




Find the price at which Wahome had bought the car.



If the amount Wahome paid for the car was 26% less than the price of the new car, calculate the price of the new car.
