A person who preaches water but drinks wine,is a person who advocates for something but ends up doing the complete opposite.Such people don't mean what they say and they say what they don't mean. They are like the chameleon and they change with seasons.Politics is a dirty game.In Kenya, the situation is even worse. Our political arena is mainly and largely dominated by politicians. They are masters of the game. They are actively and directly involved in our day to day political life. They are cunning and very smart. They know what they want and know how to get it.In the political arena, they are the best and they accept nothing less. Our politicians are also ultimate opportunists. They ensure that they leave no stone unturned in order to get what they want.

Here are some of the things our politicians advocate for yet they don't practice themselves.

1.Kenyan unity. Our politicians move from one town to another advocating for a united and peaceful Kenya. However,in order to get votes, they use the divide and rule tactics. That is why they are happy when the country is highly polarized because it ensures that their tribal backing remains intact.

2.Harmonious co-existence of communities. They talk of the importance of communities to exist harmoniously yet they are the first to refer to others as 'weeds' meaning they are aliens and as such, they should go back to their places of origin. They incite their tribe to rise against the other(s).

3.Obeying the law.Our politicians, being law makers, emphasize that we should obey the law all the times yet they don't lead by example. They break or bend the law in order to satisfy themselves or suit their needs.According to them, they are special and above the law.
They know they are respected in the society and they have a lot of influence. They use such influence in order to get what

they want without caring about the consequences of their actions.

Dear Kenyans,a time has come when we need to 'open' our eyes.We have previously fell into their traps. We have been the prey and they have been the predators. We have suffered for following them blindly and for heeding to their wrong advice. We have been adversely affected. They have caused us more harm than good.We have gone through untold pain, misery and agony.Enough is enough. We must bite the bullet. We must stand up and say yes to what is good and no to what is bad.We must not repeat our past mistakes. It is high time we unite as Kenyans and refuse to be divided for the benefit of a few politicians. It is time we start making informed decisions.Listen to a politician but do what is right. It is time to stand up and be counted.
