4. (a) Name the proponents of expressionism in the Second Viennese School and give an
example of an expressionistic work by each of them. (6mks)
(b) Which other style did the second Viennese school represent? (1mk)
(c) Explain and illustrate on staff how the proponents of the second Viennese school
managed to build themes on the original series in the style mentioned in question
above. (9mks)
(d) Explain how composers of the 20th century made use of new materials in their
compositions. (4mks)
