Q1.
Read the Text 1 given below and answer question (a) to (d) that follow
It is always exiting to into a new class, so the standard Four pupils were happy
and excited. Usually, the Standard Four teacher was Mrs. Smith but she left the
school at the end of the previous year 1. While they were waiting to go in the
children were asking themselves some questions. Who would be their new
teacher? Who was the new boy standing with them?

Now the headmistress was coming along the verandah. Besides her, there was
another woman wearing a pair of glasses.

?This must be the new teacher 2? one child whispered to the others. The
headmistress stopped and talked to them. ?Boys and girls, this is your new
teacher. I would like you to meet her. Her name is Mrs. Brown 3. Get into a
straight line and go into the classroom quietly?.

Quickly, the children got into line, went into the classroom and stood beside their
desks. The headmistress said, ?I hope you?ll have a happy year together. Now I?ll
leave you with Mrs. Brown, because I?ve got some work to do?. Mrs Brown
thanked her and then she left.

The teacher told the pupils to sit down quietly. She went to her desk and took out
the register. She told the children that she did not know their names yet 4.

While she was calling the register, some children were looking at the pictures on
the walls, one picture showed a tailor?s shop and the other showed wild animals.
