going through a creative writing course. The course is therefore unnecessary in this
commercial world".

In a small town at the base of a huge volcanic mountain a middle aged man and
his wife (also middle aged) have been chained hand and foot by marauding
thugs who have already left. There is no escape and no one can help them. The
entire population has been ordered out of the town because the volcano is about
to erupt. The earth trembles; trembles again as the forces build up in the
bowels of the earth.
Write a short STICOMYTHIA covering the period between the noisy, frantic
escape of the townspeople to the moment the mountain erupts and the wide
sheet of molten lava begins to roar down the mountainside towards the MAN
and his WIFE
