You are the Shift in charge at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi…
You are alerted that a businessman from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mr
Jules Katongo is awaiting Immigration clearance and does not have a valid yellow
fever certificate. Mr Katongo is already upset about the delay in processing his
papers. Explain the rationale of international travel vaccination requirements.
Advice on what should be done in the case of Mr. Katongo.

Your are the Port Health Officer stationed at the Port of Mombasa. The Queen
Majesty Luxury Cruise ship is expected to dock for 2 days in Mombasa before
proceeding to Durban. It is carrying 800 tourists and 98 crew on board. The Ship
Master calls to inform you that they have a sick child on board, suffering from
rash and fever. Outline the measures you will take when the ship docks.

You are the environmental health officer in charge at Malaba (Kenya – Uganda
border). You are inspecting a container from Kampala full of hides destined for
Mombasa. You notice several dead rats on the floor. Discuss the steps you will
take to ensure no spread of disease into Kenya.
