1. (a) Define organizational behavior and explain how the knowledge of organization behavior can assist managers. ( 12 marks)

(b) Despite reinforcement being preferred to punishment in managing behavior, punishment is sometimes used. Explain some guidelines which can make punishment effective in managing behavior. ( 10 marks)

(c ) Using a model of motivation framework, explain motivation showing how various concepts of motivation are related.( 8 marks)


2. (a) Compare and contrast the contributions of Vroom expectancy Theory and Stacy Adam’s equity Theory in explaining motivation. ( 12 marks)

(b) Distinguish between Operant conditioning and Social cognitive frameworks of explaining organizational behavior. ( 8 marks)


3. (a) Define impression management and explain five strategies employees can use to manage impression. ( 12 marks)
(b) What factors determine the perception one individual has of another? ( 8 marks)

4. You have been asked to give advice on a recruitment exercise where your employer is looking for employees with leadership qualities and behavior. Explain to your employer what they should look for in the candidates to determine whether or not they are leaders. ( 20 marks)

5. (a) Describe the generally recognized identifiable stages of group development. ( 10 marks)

(b) Employees have given various reasons why they join groups.
