1. "Radio talk shows are a tool with great power to influence conflict in a positive manner, they have to be used with care, if they are not to exacerbate conflict. Talk shows can bring people across dividing lines and open up debate on difficult issues."
(i) Discuss this statement in relation to the evolving roles of talk shows in Kenya. Cite examples (12 marks)
(ii) What are some of the characteristics of the radio talk shows in Kenya (10 marks)
(iii) Some of the callers MUST be avoided during the show. What are some of these callers that you would mute? (3 marks)

2. Each radio station has its own format to engage with the audience
(i) What is a format (5 marks)
(ii) Citing examples from the Radio in Kenya describe at least three types of formats and describe how they may differ from each other. (10 marks)
