1. Kaole, Mwasi and Mbithe shared some money. Mwasi got 2/7 of the money and Mbithe got 2/3 of the remainder. What fraction of the money did Kaole receive?

3. Muli spent 3/10 of his salary on food and 2/3 on rent. He was left with Sh. 2100. What was his salary?

4. Each day Langat supplies 450 litres of milk to the local hospital. This is only two thirds that the hospital needs. The hospital gets the rest of the milk from Tanui. How many litres of milk does the hospital get from Tanui?

5. 10% of the bricks made by a builder in a day were broken. If the builder had 270 good bricks at the end of the day, how many bricks did he make during the day?

6. A farmer uses half of his shamba for growing staple food. He uses half of the remainder for growing cash crops and the rest for grazing and homestead. If the cash crops occupy four hectares, how big is his shamba?

7. One day 1/3 of the girls in a class were absent. A total of 14 pupils were absent. If 12 girls were present, how many boys were absent?

8. On Monday 1/4 of the workers were absent. On Tuesday only 1/6 of the workers were absent. If 12 more workers were absent on Monday than on Tuesday, how many workers are there altogether?

9. A basket contained oranges and bananas only. Mary removed 1/3 of the bananas and 1/4 of the oranges from the basket. In all she took 20 fruits. If half of the fruits she removed were oranges, how many fruits remained in the basket?

10. The fractions 1/2, 2/5 and 2/3 are arranged in order from the largest to the smallest. Write the correct order.
