from each section.

SECTION A – [24 MARKS]

Evaluate education in Kenya in regard to the aims, content and practice of education in any one of the following ancient civilizations:

Greece

Describe how the scholars of the Renaissance period reconciled the principles of humanism and other progressive philosophies of the Renaissance with the current prevailing doctrines of the Roman Catholic
church.
(b)
What is the impact of this reconciliation on the provision of moderneducation?

Discuss how Reformation impacted literacy, curriculum and teaching methodologies. Did these changes moderate the effect of socio-economic class on educational access and career expectations? Why or why not?

The establishment of modern education in Africa started after the Second World War (1945). Discuss.

How did the economic problems of the mid-1970’s and 1980’s affect the development of education in Africa?

7.
Assess the contribution made by the British colonial administration in the development of education for Africans in Kenya during the period 1920 – 1945.

8.
Education in post colonial Kenya is an expansion of colonial education policies and practices rather than a reformation. Discuss.

9.
Examine the main factors that influenced educational policies in Kenya between 1963 and 1970.
