Distinguish between a Subjective Test item from an Objective Test item giving an example in each case based on the current (2002) Kenyan Secondary School Biology syllabus. (6 marks)

Provide a marking scheme for the subjective test item. (8 marks)
b)
Discuss the safety measures necessary when preparing for a Practical class in Biology. (6 marks)

a)
Distinguish between Heuristic and Expository approaches to the teaching and learning of Biology. (4 marks)
b)
Some topics are better taught using lecture method, others using Group Discussion and others through class Practical. For each of these three categories, list and explain TWO examples of topics from the current Kenyan 8-4-4 Biology syllabus. (10 marks)

Trace the historical development of the Secondary School Biology curriculum in Kenya since 1963 giving the major advantages, challenges and Way Forward. (20 marks)

Identify a Biology course objective from the current (2002 syllabus that is relevant in the teaching of the topic CLASSIFICATION and explain how you could attempt to achieve it through appropriate Instructional Objectives and Learning activities. (20 marks)
