1. The mean weight of 8 pupils is 37kg. Six of the pupils weigh 30kg, 39kg, 34kg, 35kg, 40kg and 38kg. If the remaining two pupils had equal weights, what is the median weight of the eight pupils?
2. Ten pupils in a class sat for a test and had a mean score of 6.3. The score for nine of the pupils were: 3,4,5,6,7,8,8,8 and 9. What was the score for the tenth pupil?
3. The mean weight of 6 girls is 30kg. The total weight of 4 girls is 128kg. If the remaining 2 girls weigh the same, what is the weight of each of the two girls?
4. The shoe sizes of eight children in a class were: 5,4,5,4,5,7,3 and 7. Find the sum of their mean and mode.
5. In one week, Mwai''s shoe shop was opened from Monday to Saturday. On the first three days he sold 16 pairs of shoes each day. On the fourth day he sold 22 pairs and on the last two days, he sold 25 pairs each day. What was the median of the number of shoes sold that week?
6. Seven schools were represented at an athletics meeting. There was an average of 240 pupils from 4 schools and an average of 180 pupils from the remaining schools. If 850 of all the pupils were boys, how many girls were there?
7. In a class of 50 pupils, the mean score in an English test is 60. The mean score for the last 40 pupils was 55. What was the total score for the first 10 pupils?
8. The information below shows the maximum and the minimum temperatures in degrees celsius, recorded in different cities on one day.

9. A teacher measured the heights of nine pupils in a class. The heights of eight of the pupils were:

The total height of the eight pupils was 1356cm. If the mean height of the nine pupils was 169cm, what was the median height?
10. Maria sat for ten subjects in an examination. Her marks in nine subjects excluding Science was as follows:

11. The mean of six numbers is 4 2/3. Five of these numbers are 5,3,7,8 and 3. What is the median of the six numbers?
12. Seven pupils sat for a test. Three of them scored 42 marks each. The other four scored 53, 55, 50 and 45 marks. What was the median score?
13. The heights of 6 pupils were recorded as:
1.35m, 1.42m, 1.40m, 1.50m, 1.35m and 1.38m. What was the median height?
14. Below is the number of tree seedlings planted by each pupil on a tree planting day.
8, 15, 11, 9, 17, 14, 12, 14, 13, 10, 18, 8, 9, 16, 13, 13, 10, 12
