Question1:

a) Define the following terms:

i) Ethical Auditing (2marks)
ii) Morality (2 marks)
iii) Ethical relativism (2 marks)
iv) Virtues (2 marks)
v) Code of Conduct (2 marks)

b) All ethical theories arise because people are dissatisfied with their personal lives or the world in which they live.

i) Explain why it is important to have ethics in society. (5 marks)

ii) According to you, why do philosophers offer ethical theories (5 marks)

c) Giving examples discuss what absolutist/cognitive perspective is, highlighting the different categories found therein. (10 marks)

Question 2:

i) Distinguish how Aristotle’s moral philosophy differ from Platonism (10 marks)
ii) According to Aristotle what is good life for man/woman that lead to happiness (10marks)

Question 3:

Epicurus held the view that the proper way to proceed in life is to live pleasantly without suffering from any of the undesirable effects of such living. Discuss this statement in the light of Epicurus view on Hedonism (20 marks)

Question 4:

The word cynicism is in existence in ethics. Discuss its origin showing when and how it came to existence. (20 marks)

Question 5:

Using Emmanuel Kant maxim do unto others as you would have them do to you. Using examples discuss the Kantian ethics on the morality of an action. (20 marks)

Question 6:

The CEO had begun to lose sight of his ethics: he no longer cared who he hurt in order to build his riches.

i)Explain the statement cited above giving your own views on what you think would be the interpersonal relationships in this workplace. (6 marks)
ii) Using examples explain what ethics mean (4marks)
iii) Give five reasons why you think Ethics are important? (10 marks)
