Your client, Mr. Matheaus wants desperately to loose 9 Kg (20lb) before he marries in a months time. He purchased a month’s worth of liquid protein drink and multivitamins to take daily. He seems adamant about not eating any starches or sweets. Based on your reading of this topic, how would you explain to him the effects of low- carbohydrate diet on carbohydrate functions so that he will know why carbohydrates are important even in a weight-loss program?
