QUESTION 1
Atekka Hospital, a national hospital, is setting up a MAN around its hospital campus for use
in running cliniSoft, an integrated software solution built by AbiCom Solutions. This will
facilitate information transfer between the various cooperating parties. This system is
basically an MIS that covers various operational areas of the hospital. You are the MIS
manager at the hospital.
a) What areas should CliniSoft cover for a hospital of a national magnitude?

b) What benefits does Atekka Hospital expect from the CliniSoft? (10 marks)
QUESTION 2
a) You are the Project manger (PM) in at Kweisi Systems, and Kweisi has just signed a
contract that is worth upwards of Ksh. 285 million to develop and install an MIS for
Elimu University (EU). Among the MIS’s tasks are all student records, financial data
(includes billing, procurement, and asset management. Since you are the PM your
first responsibility write a project plan. What areas will you address in your project
plan? (7 marks)
b) Your manager wants inspections introduced earlier in the development process; he
asks you to write a plan to implement this. Highlight 3 items that you will include in
your plan. (7 marks)
c) You work in an insurance company and your boss wants you to develop a plan for
evaluating the number crunching system and how to improve it. Write this plan.
