1. “ The reason why the World is embroiled in many problems is not because don’t think but because most people don’t think critically and creativity” . Discuss this statement with reference to Kenya today. [ 30 marks]

2. Analyse the reasoning in the following, clearly showing why each is an instance of fallacious reasoning;
a) A business women trying to win buyers for her perfume was heard arguing: “One thousand women have already bought this perfume; a thousand women cannot be wrong”. [ 5 marks]
b) “ My pastor is insincere, therefore all Christians are insincere”. [ 5 marks]
c) In any case, I know your phone number and where you live. Are you also aware that I know that you have been cheating on your girlfriend? [ 5 marks]
d) Prof. Juma’s philosophy is truth worthy because he was removed form the chairmanship of philosophy for dishonesty. [ 5 marks]

3. “The ultimate goal of human development is attainment of autonomy”. Discuss this in the light of J.S. Mill’s essay on Individuality and Liberty of Thought. [ 20 marks]
