Many of us realize we do not like the shapes of our bodies when time has gone and very little is left to control that. Others start engaging in morning sweaty jogging, walking to work, skipping meals or taking very little of it. All these are proper ways, but not very good when done too much especially as age progresses. Below are some few easy tips on how to watch your weight and maintain fitness.

1. Engage yourself a lot in fat releasing foods. Such foods will help you keep away from feeling deprived. They contain a lot of fibre. Examples of such foods include whole grains which are very rich in nutrients and fiber than any other refined grains. Such foods help keep your body very regular. Examples of these foods are wheat bread, brown rice, corn, oatmeal and a varied range of cereals. Simple; avoid so much of junk foods.

2. Take adequate water. A grown up human being of at least 55 kilograms is supposed to take at least 8 to 10-ounce glasses of water per day. This translates to about 2 litres of water. Water is very essential for all metabolic processes in our body. Water also helps with digestion and weight loss, it maintains skin appearance. Foods with high-water content like fruits and vegetables will also increase a person’s average water intake in a day.

3. Take part in simple exercises. These should be routinely. Taking an extra 20 minutes of physical activity a day like a walk or a jog, or an additional 2,000 steps helps maintain body weight and to naturally burn excess fats. According to Dr. James Hill, a medical researcher, walking for 20 to 30 minutes in a day which equals 3 kilometres is essential in burning excess fats in our bodies. Avoid the remote control

at times, go turn or roam over channels directly on the television set buttons!

4. You are the watchdog of your body. This means that all activities it does, you have the mandate to tune them in the direction that suits you best. You may be gaining weight, yet you do not like it. That can only mean you have been doing something causing the weight gain, you therefore have got to change on that. If your own physical look or appearance does not please you, in no way then shall it please the other person.

A healthy body, with a maintained weight and flexibility is the pride of its owner. Keep healthy, live long and happily.
