(a) The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the brain of a computer system. It is responsible for activating and controlling the operations of other units of the computer system. Briefly describe the components of the CPU and their functions. (6 marks)

(d) Quote the major difference between first and third generation of computers. (2 marks)
(e) Describe five applications of computers in our Society today. (5 marks)
