Question 1
The business environment in Kenya like in many other parts of the world is changing at an unprecedented rate and many organizations have started to respond strategically to these dynamics in order to remain competitive. More specifically, over the last 15 years the Insurance industry in Kenya has undergone dramatic growth partly due to globalization, democratization and technical and creative innovation. This rapid growth has meant significant changes in the structure of the labour market and in the organization of work both within and outside the framework of the employment relationship.
XYZ Ltd Insurance Company decided this year (2010) moved a substantial portion of its workforce into flexible office arrangements over the past several years. This programme takes as its mantra, ‘work where — work wherever work occurs’. It is expected that this programme will improve employer-employee relations and ultimately transform the bottom line.
