f) Explain and illustrate why organizations use hybrid network topologies. Give an example of a hybrid topology. (5Marks)

g) Computer system resources can be classified as either shareable or non-shareable. With relevant examples describe the two types of resources. (6Marks)

a) Describe four factors the firm must consider in selecting a suitable data processing

b) Outline typical characteristics of a transaction processing system. (6Marks)

c) Identify possible sales and marketing activities that batch and online processing could be applied by the firm. (6Marks)

Common office packages include: - Word-processing, Spreadsheet, Database, Art and Presentation software. There are many versions of these office packages. Some Internet companies such as Google offer newer free online
versions that allow several people to collaborate (work simultaneously) on a task and save their work on the Internet company’s online server.

c) Describe how Internet telephony has significantly reduced the cost of International calls.

d) Using a relevant illustration, clearly explain how a ring topology works.
