Rates of depression are higher in women than in men. Discuss

Question Four

Wangechi is a cheerful 9 year old standard four girl who is brought to the outpatient clinic after the teacher repeatedly called her mother about her worsening classroom behavior. Her teacher described her as friendly but constantly disrupts the class by her autics and could no longer be tolerated by the class. The teacher reported she hummed and made noises under her breath, blunted out answers without raising her hand and tried to be first when the teacher asked a question, even though she did not have the answers. Wangechi was a whirlwing of energy when on the playground. She had few playmated because of her tendency to disrupt games and invent new rules. Wangechi seldomly completed her assignments at home and in the classroom.

Identify Wangechi’s problem and support the diagnosis by use of evidence from the above case.
