SECTION A
a) Using concrete examples in Kenya differentiate between the core, tangible and augmented conceptions of a product. (15 marks)
b) Describe what a destination entails, highlighting what makes some destinations better than others. (15 marks)
SECTION B
1. Describe the tourism competitiveness of any county of your choice. (20 marks)
2. Positioning a destination's image in the minds of a target group of customers is a core activity of a destination. Critique the positioning of Kenya to the domestic market. (20 marks)
3. Describe the current status of branding in Kenya and recommend what needs to be done to
increase tourist numbers. (20 marks)
4. Destination image is a key factor in the destination selection process of potential tourists. Discuss how this is done and the advantages of building a destination image. (20 marks)
