b) The yield of maize and beans per hectare in pure stand is 1200 kgs and 600 kgs, respectively. While intercrop the maize and beans yields are 1000 kgs and 450 kgs respectively. Calculate the LER (Land equivalent ratio) of the intercrop and interpret your result. (8 Marks)

c) Discuss the advantages of intercropping. (10 Marks)
