1 .a) Building plans starts with a drawing prepared according to the scale. Interpret the meaning of the following Numerical scale; 1:100. Using the scale,calculate the floor area in square metres for a rectangular plan 75 mm by 40 mm. (5.5 marks)
b) A gable roof is designed for a building with a spam of 8m. Estimate the dimensions of the following components of the Double-pitched roof.

2. a) Wind velocity of a strong breeze is estimated from the scale of winds as 50.4km/hr .Assume the height to eave of the building then determine the expected net wind pressure in ( N/M square) for a gable roofed farm building with the following wind pressure coefficients and roof slope of 30 degrees. (6.0 marks)
