Assuming you have been hired as a Consultant by the Kenya Government to
prepare Water Planning Guidelines that could be used by Local Authorities to
initiate and promote sustainable water supply development within their areas
of jurisdiction, discuss:
a) Water Planning steps that you would recommend to your Client while
indicating their significance.[20marks]
b) Constraints that the Local Authorities are likely to face as they strive
towards the achievement of environmentally-sound water planning and
management.

Using suitable illustration, explain how the knowledge of Hydrological Cycle
could be applied in Water Resources Planning and Management. [20marks]

Discuss the contention that water supply problems in Nairobi could be
attributed more to Demand Management issues rather than Supply
Management.[20marks]

a) Construct a Simulation Model that could be used to study the variations in
Consumptive Water Use and the factors underlying the same among the
Urban Population in Kenya.[8marks]
b) Discuss the emerging issues in contemporary Water Planning

Management.

Management as provided for in the Water Act of 2002.
