SECTION ONE (30 MARKS)
1. Distinguish between perception and sensory skills. [4 marks]

2. (a) Explain what you do understand by the term “Gestalt psychology’. [2 marks]

(b) Explain two ways Gestalt psychology is related to learning disabilities.

3. Identify two examples of the concept “sensory receptors”. [2 marks]

5. Identify 4 activities you would use to stimulate infant’s language development.

6. Explain with examples each of the following:

(b) Give two strategies of teaching children with LD colour constancy.

9. Discuss four characteristics of basic academic skills of children with learning disabilities. [20 marks]

10. (a) How does overloading of the perceptual system adversely affect a child
with Learning disabilities? [10 marks]
(b) Explain 5 activities you would put in place to assist a child who cannot use
all the sensory channels.
11. Describe four areas of perceptual principles by Gesalt and explain why children with LD would experience difficult in the same. [20 marks]

12. Describe with examples the following areas of learning in children with learning disabilities and show how each of the four is affected by inability to perceive.
