3. Discuss how the following can influence achievement of a learner in science.

b) Entry behaviour of a learner

d) Mathematical ability of a learner [23 marks]

4. Two science teachers, A and B used three instructional methods and gave a
test at the end of the term. The following data below was obtained.

a) Explain two likely reasons for teacher A using many lecture lessons.

b) Both teacher A and B used a lot of Teacher demonstration method. Outline the procedure teachers used in arranging and performing this method.

c) Explain two possible reasons that earned teacher B a higher achievement.

d) When a practical test was given, there was no significant difference in
performance between learners of teacher A and B. Comment on the
results. [23marks]

5. It has been considered that the learning and teaching of science has ‘favoured’
boys than girls. Explain in the following in the contexed of this statement:
a) Homes socialize boys towards learning science

b) Girls find mathematical component in science difficult

c) There is no significant difference in science performance between boys and girls at primary school level
