This paper consists of TWO sections A and B.

SECTION A
Answer ALL questions in this Section.
1.Explain FOUR features of good lettering in technical drawing. [4 marks]

2.Briefly describe the TWO broad types of drawings. [4 marks]

3.Briefly describe SIX materials used in technical drawing. [4 marks]

4.Illustrate the lines used in technical drawing citing the application of each.
[4 marks]

5.a)Explain the importance of material symbols in architectural drawing.[1 mark]

b)Illustrate THREE material symbols. [3 marks]

SECTION B
Answer question ONE and any other TWO questions from this Section.
1.The specifications given below relate to the construction of a lecture hall. To a
scale of 1: 10 draw and label a typical section to show the foundation and the
floor construction. [20 marks]

2. Using TWO different methods, sketch a pre-cast concrete drain pipe.[15 marks]

3.Figure 1 shows the isometric view of an object. To a scale of 1:2 draw the plan,
front elevation and side elevations in third angle projection. [15 marks]

4.a) Figure 2 shows the plan of an engineering component. To a scale of 1:10
draw and dimension the plan. [5 marks]

b) Figure 3 shows the orthographic views of an object. To a scale of 1:2
draw the isometric view of the object with L.P as the lowest point.[10 marks]
