1. a) i) What are Transits in surveying? (3 marks)
ii) Describe three major parts of a Transit. (6 marks)
iii) List any three common sources of error in Transit work, also explaining how they can effect accuracy in surveying. (6 marks)
b) i) Illustrate the differences between systematic and Random errors.

ii) Explain the concept "All survey measurements are suspect until they have been verified". (5 marks)
iii) A building wall whose known length is 157.22 ft was measured using a cloth tape graduated to the closest 0.1 ft; and found to measure
157.2 ft.
