1. Critically evaluate the value of any two anthropological theories used in the study of oral literature. [20 Marks]

2. Using a feminist framework discuss the concept of ‘male dominance’ and ‘female power’ in oral literature. Refer to specific oral literature texts. [20 Marks]

3. Discus sin detail the psychological value of oral literature in human societies. [20 Marks]

4. Discuss and evaluate the contribution of at least two East African scholars you have studied to the study of oral literature. [20 Marks]

5. Write out a brief discussion on the following aspects of research.

(i) Research topic and statement of the problem [6 Marks]

(ii) Literature review and theoretical framework. [7 Marks]

(iii) Methods of data collection and analysis. [7 Marks]
