SECTION A- COMPULSORY SECTION (30 MARKS)

1. (a) Define the term ‘entrepreneur’ [2 Marks]

(b) Mention the various entrepreneurial actions that characterize an entrepreneur.

3. Mention the possible sources of business ideas to emerging entrepreneurs in eco-tourism

styles in an enterprise. [4 Marks]

5. Mention the importance of the ‘cost – benefits analysis’ to small scale entrepreneurs in the tourism industry. [2 Marks]

6. Advice an emerging entrepreneur in tourism on the nature and characteristics of planning in a business. [3 Marks]

10. (a) Describe the factors that influence the organization structure of an eco-tourism
and hospitality firm. [10 Marks]

(b) ‘Finance is the lifeblood of a business’, advice a fellow entrepreneur on the
possible sources of long-term and medium-term finance. [10 Marks]

11. (a) ‘Economic development is the effect for which entrepreneurship in eco-tourism
and hospitality industry is the cause’. Justify. [10 Marks]

(b) Explain the possible challenges that may face upcoming entrepreneurs in the tourism industry. [10 Marks]
