• Answer Four Questions ONLY.
• Each Question carries 15 Marks

1. ‘The major business of the church is to be in mission (Mugambi, 1999). Critically examine why the mission of the church cannot be compete without the term ‘ecumenism’.

2. ‘We believe in Allah and that which is revealed unto us and that which was revealed into Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the tribes and that which was vouchsafed unto Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them,” (Koran: III: 84).
Explain the significance of this text from the Koran in mending the relationship between Muslims and Christians in Africa and briefly show why they should live together as siblings.

3. Discuss the effort made by the Kenyan churches to foster unity between themselves since independence and evaluate the main challenges they have encountered in this initiative.

4. Elucidate how the communal aspect of the African people can be employed to rebuild African Christianity in the 21st century.

5. The 1884/85 Berlin Conference is to be blamed for the current challenges facing the African continent today. Discuss.
