INSTRUCTIONS:

You are provided with 2 sections A and B. Section A is compulsory and carry 30 marks while Section B you must choose any two questions which have 40 marks.


SECTION A (30 MARKS)


Q1. (a) Define the following terms:

(i) Creative Art
(ii) Functional Art
(iii) Art
(iv) Craft [8 marks]


(b) State 6 roles of Art and Craft to young children. [12 marks]


(c) Describe briefly three scribbling stages children go through before
they draw. [6 marks]


(d) Explain four ways of displaying children creativity work. [4 marks]

SECTION B (40 MARKS)

Q2. Citing examples discuss five importance of Art and Craft to young children.
[20 marks]
Q3. Using illustrations describe the following stages of Artistic development.

- Random scribbling (1 – 2)
- Controlled scribbling (2 – 3 ½ )
- Named scribbling (3 ½ - 4)
- Symbolic stage (4 – above) [20 marks]


Q4. Using the themes collage and painting discuss activities children may be involved in and the skills developed during teaching and learning of art and Craft. [20 marks]


Q5. You are invited to give a talk on how to develop creative and psychomotor skills in young children. What can you include in your talk? [20 marks]
