SECTION A:

1. (a) Define the term Housekeeping. [1 mark]
(b) Highlight three functions of housekeeping. [3 marks]


2. Explain briefly any five (5) challenges faced by a housekeeper in providing intangible products to a guest in a hotel guest room. [10 marks]

3. List five items a housekeeper must have to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
[2 marks]

4. Using flowchart, diagram, illustrate and explain briefly interdepartmental relationships and co-operation of housekeeping department with other departments found in a hotel.
[10 marks]

5. Explain briefly four stages of washing guest fabric. [4 marks]


SECTION B:

6. Discus keys as one of the components of security in the hotel industry. [20 marks]

7. Discuss in details methods followed when cleaning vacated guestroom, vacant guestroom and occupied guestroom. [20 marks]

8. Discuss the procedures followed while making a full strength starch for laundering guest napkins. [20 marks]
