Question One

State the three Newton’s laws of motion and for each, describe a situation that clearly demonstrates the law. [9 marks]

Distinguish between impulse and momentum and give the SI unit for each.[4 marks]

State three input/output devices and describe how each is used to interface between a
user and the central processing unit. [9 marks]

Compare and contrast between electric field and magnetic field. [4 marks]

State four modes of electricity generation and for each, state the energy transformation involved. [4 marks]

Question Two

State the two Coulombs’ laws of electrostatics. [3 marks]

Three charges are located on the x axis with q1 = -6µC loxatedat x = -4cm, q2 = 4µC located at x = 0, and q3 = 5µC located at x = 4cm. Find the Coulombic force on q3 due to q1 and q2. [9 marks]
