4. Mr. Kimanthi and Miss Atieno are planning to get married in three months time. Miss Atieno’s parents have vowed not to consent to this marriage if Kimanthi and Atieno will not go for HIV test.

5. HIV/AIDS is a disease that has affected the whole globe but sub-Saharan Africa is the hardest hit.
(a) Explain factors that have contributed to this phenomenon. [10 marks]
(b) Discuss the impact of HIV/AIDS in various sectors in Kenyan economy. [10 marks]
6. Research has shown that more than 80% of the HIV/AIDS infected population in Kenya fall between the ages of 15-49 years. These are young and economically productive people upon whom the society has invested in the hope that they will participate fully in building the Nation.

7. HIV/AIDS is a very expensive disease especially for the poor. Due to this fact, some HIV/AIDS patients receive Home Based Care (HBC).
(a) Explain what home based care is and discuss its advantages and disadvantages. [10 marks]
(b) When giving HIV/AIDS patient home based care, the care giver has to focus on key areas. Discuss these key areas and say how you can help the patient. [10 marks]
