Q1.
a) Abraham Maslow classifies needs that people have into five major categories. Using this theory, outline how those needs can be used to satisfy students of a university of your choice in the process of their educational programme. (20 marks)
b) As an employee of an organization, an individual will tend to behave in the manner that she/he perceives to be considered. If treated in a mature way, they will tend to behave maturely. On the other hand, if they are treated as immature, tendency is clear that they will also behave immaturely. This argument is what Argyris researched and came up with the different assumptions employee characteristics of both personalities mentioned above. Citing examples from an organization of your choice, discuss the two personality traits. (10 marks)
Q2. Bureaucracy was championed by Marx Weber to establish an organization system that is run by rules and regulations. If those rules and regulations are properly adhered to in the organization that you are the CEO what are the probable advantages and disadvantages that you may tend to experience while implementing your strategic goals? (20 marks)
Q3. When formal groups are established there are five major stages that are followed, highlight these steps in formation of a hospitality committee in a five star hotel. (20 marks)

a) You are a consultant who has been invited to resent a paper on causes of stress in that office to department heads. What would your paper focus on? (10 marks)
b) After presentation, a head of department asks you to highlight the effects of stress in the office. What would be your response? (10 marks)
