Answer any THREE questions, each in a separate booklet.

1. (a) Analyse the information processing model in skill performance.[15 marks]
(b) Explain why players in handball always move to block fake shots or
passes during team defence. [5 marks]

2. (a) Use tug-of-war sport to discuss how the sporting environment affects the
skills performance within and between the teams. [8 marks]

(b) Use the following phases to describe how attack and defence techniques in
tug-of-war may be learnt.
• Cognitive
• Associative
• Autonomous [12 marks]

3. (a) Identify a closed skill in volleyball and explain the instances when the
same skill may be viewed as an open skill. [8 marks]

(b) Explain how guidance, practice and experience would affect the learning
of the closed skill identified above. [12 marks]

4. (a) Distinguish between extroverts and introverts sports preferences.[8 marks]

(b) Using tennis as an example of indirect aggression sport:
(i) Use description of aggression in sport to support the terms direct
and indirect aggressions. [8 marks]
(ii) Describe instances when this sport may be seen as a direct aggression sport. [4 marks]

5. (a) Explain the safety precautions for facilities and equipment when
developing skills in physical activities. [12 marks]

(b) Explain the use of each piece of protective equipment won by the hockey
goal keeper during skill performances. [8 marks]
