Skills to learn during the quarantine.
What are you doing to improve yourself during this quarantine time? It is important to take this time and make yourself productive by learning important skills I am going to explore in this article. These skills might help you in your work or even gaining new experience which might be helpful.

1.Social media marketing.
There is a rising trend in social media marketing. Most businesses are opting to use social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social media platforms to market their products, build and engage with their audiences as well as a step to taking their businesses online. Udemy offers a variety of courses in digital and social media marketing where you can easily learn this skill from at your own pace. This skill can help you make a living as a freelancer by starting your own digital marketing agency. If you learn this skill and be proficient in it, you might be surprised how companies will look for you to help them in doing their marketing online or taking their business online.

2. Programming/coding
Software engineers, programmers, and coders are more in-demand these days. This is because businesses are automating their processes to cut costs where programming or coding skills are important to achieve this automation. Learning coding has been made easy by the availability of online classes and courses where you can easily learn. Nowadays you don’t need to go to school to learn a new skill you can do it at the comfort of your home using platforms such as Udemy, W3schools, and Lynda among many other online course sharing platforms. W3schools provide free coding courses but you will have to pay if you want to obtain a certificate. The good thing about w3schools is that they have tests at the end

of each topic where you can test yourself.

With Udemy you can get search for a free course but I would advise you to enroll for a paid since I offer more value than the free ones. After completing a course with Udemy you get a certificate to prove that you have successfully completed the course. When enrolling for a coding course on Udemy make sure to read the reviews other students are giving and also check on the instructor's rating. This will help you make a good decision on which instructor will be good for you and also get value for your money.

3. Copywriting
This is another skill recommended to learn during this quarantine period. Copywriting involves writing sales pages, landing pages, and also sales funnels. It is not just any kind of writing but writing influential sales page and funnels which convert potential clients into buying customers. Copywriting is one of the skills that are impossible to automate or replace with technology. It requires human effort and thinking in order to write captivating sales pages and funnels. Learning this skill can help you earn a job replacing income with time if you are smart and put in the required efforts.
This skill can be learned by reading books such as The Adweek Copywriting Handbook by Joseph Sugarman and The One Sentence persuasion by Blaire Warren. Furthermore, you can check out Dan Lok’s Copywrite training on.

4. Learning a new language.
Take this quarantine time and improve on yourself by learning a new language that you have always wanted to learn since you have all the time. It is easy to learn a new language at your own pace by enrolling for a language course online on Udemy. You will find helpful resources there. After you learn the language make sure to practice since practice makes permanent. Practicing will help you not forget the language after you’ve learned it and also you will have not wasted your time learning the language.
You might be wondering what learning a new language can help you with. You can become a translator since there are companies that are looking to hire translators. You can help them translate their document into the language that you’ve learnt and get rewarded for that. This can be a source of passive income which is great. Isn’t it?

5. Graphic design
This is a good skill you can learn during this time. This skill can help you in designing banners, ad banners, posters, logos, and other materials that require creative designing. Learning this skill does not consume a lot of time. It can take less than three weeks to learn this skill. You can learn graphic design from Udemy or Lynda. This skill can earn you income by for example designing custom made t-shirts on Teespring or Spreadshirt. You can become a freelancer at 99designs and other freelancing sites such as guru where you can for example design good looking logos for your clients.

Conclusion
Learning a skill on your own is not easy. You need to be disciplined and determined in order to accomplish or complete learning a specific skill. Do not struggle to learn all of these skills at once. I advise that you take one course at a time then you can learn the other skill once you complete the previous one. Remember practicing what you have learned is key to making it permanent so that you don’t forget what you’ve learned.
