food substances.It is also concerned
with preservation of such foods.
Graduates may work in food processing
plants or in hotels.

in food technology or its
equivalent acquired from a
recognized institution.

Course duration
- The program takes nine months

Intake takes place in August
every year.

Admission requirements
(i)Those applying for the program above must have attained a C in KCSE with a C- in English and maths OR

(ii) Division II at KCE or

(iii) Hold a KCE certificate with division III with at least a credit in maths and English OR

(iv) Be in a possession of a relevant certificate with a credit pass plus a C- in English and maths

Duration
- 18 months
Admission requirements
Those holding any of the qualifications below shall be admitted:
(i) A minimum of C at KCSE with C in relevant field OR

(ii) KCE division II with at least Credit in relevant subjects OR

(iii) Be a holder of credit pass in any certificate course relevant with at least KCSE grade of C- with C- in relevant subjects

Course duration
Two years
Admission shall be granted to holders of any of the qualifications below:
(a) A mean grade of C at KCSE with C in Biology or Biological Sciences, English or Kiswahili, C- in Chemistry or Physical Sciences, and Pass in Physics or Mathematics.

(b) A certificate in relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

Course duration.
Six semesters.
Academic requirements
(i) Applicants are required to have attained C in KCSE with a C in chemistry,physics and maths or
(ii)Attain division II in KCE with five credits,three of them being either maths,English,biology,chemistry and physics or
(iii)Hold a relevant certificate in food science and technology
