SECTION A: AIR PHOTO-INTERPRETATION
1. Either,
a) Define Photography
b) Distinguish between Metric and Semantic Information in Photography
c) Trace the major historical developments of aerial photography since
the invention of a photographic camera in 1822.
OR You are tasked to undertake aerial photography of the Mara River
catchment. Outline the factors you would consider for a successful
aerial mission and discus the types of photography you aim to capture
for photographic analysis.

2. a) Define a Photo-scale
b) Describe any three methods of computing a photo-scale
c) Examine the strengths and weaknesses of each of the methods in 2(b) above.
3. With illustrations explain how you can employ the principles /characteristics of air-photo
interpretation to identify and classify the major land uses in the city of Nairobi.
4. Briefly discus the following:
