QUESTION ONE
Sulphur dioxide (SO2) is one of major primary air pollutants emitted into the atmosphere, explain;
a. Four characteristics sulphur dioxide. [2 marks]
b. The manufacture of sulphuric acid (H2SO4) through contact process. [5 marks]
c. Four effect of sulphur dioxide by-product i.e (acid rain) [2 marks]
d. Calculate the number of moles of sulphur dioxide (SO2) used to react sulphuric acid (H2SO4) given that standard alkaline of sodium hydroxide (0.1m NaOH) of i.e
2NaOH + H2SO4 ?Na2.SO4 + 2H2O [10 marks]
e. Differentiate between primary air pollutants and secondary air pollutants. [1 mark]
