(a) Your understanding of the claim that business ethics is an “Oxymoron”.

(b) The meaning of ethics and why organizations and industry groups often develop codes of ethical conduct or rules for behaviour. [3 marks]

(c) Why, despite the prevalence of numerous business scandals, thinking about business ethics is not entirely redundant. [6 marks]

(d) Main reasons why a good understanding of business ethics is important. [10 marks]

(e) The considerations that are included in an expanded concept of sustainability.
[6 marks]

(f) (i) The meaning of professional ethics and (ii) identify some common professional
misconducts. [6 marks]

(g) Reasons advanced by those who advocate for corporations involvement in corporate social responsibility beyond increasing profits. [2 marks]
(h) Reasons why organizations engage in social accounting. [4 marks]


Q2. You have been appointed the team leader of a committee tasked with the responsibility of developing a business ethics programme in your organization. Explain to your members the following:

(a) The expectations placed on organizations by society as its social responsibility.

(b) The series of steps an occupation passes through in its evolution into a profession.
[4 marks]

(c) The main objectives of codes of ethics. [3 marks]
